Clarkia pulchella – deerhorn clarkia
This annual produces bright pink flowers that give rise to one of its many common names: pink fairies! It blooms in its first year of growth, then re-seeds itself in subsequent years. It was first described by Lewis and Clark and still bears their name. It will tolerate extra water and some shade, especially if the soils are well-drained. (annual / plant fall, winter, or spring) . |
